The Southern DC3 Trust has won the inaugural Christchurch Heritage Award for the HeritageTourism category

We are delighted to receive this recognition of our dedication to New Zealand's aviation heritage.

At the ceremony the Judges remarked:

"The DC3 is a creative and innovative tourist attraction based on the history of aviation. The judges commend the enthusiasm and passion of the 60plus volunteers and their dedication to resurrecting and maintaining a vital part of our country's heritage. To provide an opportunity for people to experience this slice of history with a working example is indeed important for the education and heritage preservation for future generations"
